Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute

Offers a variety of fellowships ranging from graduate through post-doctoral, as well as research and training fellowships.

Canadian Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan

This initiative recognises students of merit from Commonwealth countries who are applying to Master’s and PhD programmes in advanced study and research.


Travel, a living stipend, and mandatory tuition expenses are all included in the award.

Ontario Graduate Scholarship Program

Graduate students from a wide range of disciplines are eligible to apply.


Students must accept an offer from an Ontario university and receive a valid study permit before applying.

National Research Council of Canada (NRCC)

Master’s degree holders in engineering and PhD holders in natural science or engineering subjects are eligible for a research associateship.

Quebec Provincial Government Scholarship

For students studying in Quebec.

Students with a master’s degree or higher can receive financial aid.

Each application is evaluated independently on its merit.

Ontario Trillium Scholarship

Doctoral candidates from all over the world were first invited to study in Ontario in November of 2010.

Each scholarship is worth $40,000 per year and is renewable for up to four years.


Each year, 75 scholarships are granted to international PhD students by Ontario universities, who select and award them based on excellence and programme criteria.

For PhD candidates

Supports new or ongoing social science and humanities research initiatives.

Worth up to CAD 20,000
