If you’ve been considering studying in Australia, there’s now even more motivation to do so: the newest information on the new 485 post-study work stream visa! You can now work in Australia’s regional locations after finishing your studies and realise your dream.

International students can now work in remote locations for up to four years after earning their bachelor’s or master’s degree, thanks to recent modifications announced by the Australian government. Perth, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Canberra, Newcastle/Lake Macquarie, Wollongong/Illawarra, Geelong, and Hobart are just a few of the places that now provide an additional year of PSW (total of 3 years).

What is this new 485 post-study work stream visa?

This new post-study work stream visa, offered by the Australian Government, enables you to study, live, and work in the designated regional areas of the country, for up to four years. This is a fantastic improvement because it allows you to better plan for your future career by allowing you to study and work in a larger choice of fields, as well as extending the validity of your post-study work visa.

Who can apply?

If you are an international student who wishes to work in Australia for a longer period of time (up to four years) after completing your studies, this is the programme for you. The good news is that this visa gives you full study and employment rights, as well as the flexibility to travel to and from Australia for the duration of your visa.

Because this post-study work visa does not have an occupations list, your field of specialisation will not be a deciding factor. However, make sure you’re learning at the appropriate levels.

A degree from a CRICOS-registered course is required.

It is not necessary to have your skills assessed in order to apply for this visa.

You must meet the language proficiency standards in English.
