The USA remains a world leader in the education department with more than four thousand post-secondary education institutes. These institutions are further divided on the basis of the qualifications that they offer their teaching programs and the ownership & governance.

Public College & Universities

They are owned and operated by the states and territories. One must know that the USA does not have a ‘National University’ except for the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine institutions. The institutions are either affiliated to a government university or they are private universities. 

Private Colleges & Universities

They do not receive any sort of primary support from the government or its entities.
